There are very few locations in the world that are more instantly recognizable as the Grand Canyon. None other speaks in a fuller way to the nationalism of the United States as the Grand Canyon. In the year 1903, the President, Teddy Roosevelt stood on the South Rim of the national park and proclaimed that every single American should see the area.

The Grand Canyon is truly a unique testimony to the history of our planet and the experience of our nation. Its immensity, the gorgeous colors, and the geological sculpting amaze millions of people each and every single year.

While the rock formations, the Colorado River, and the amazing colors within the park are absolutely stunning, there are other natural wonders that guests should make a point to witness in person; that is, the beautiful, cascading waterfalls that are situated in and around the Grand Canyon. In this two-part series, you will be introduced to these absolute must-see waterfalls!

Havasu Falls

Havasupai Falls is situated within the Havasupai Reservation in Coconino County. This is located in the southwest corner of the Grand Canyon. Here, you will discover deep and highly scenic canyons that resemble those of the canyons near the Colorado River within the Grand Canyon. The Havasu Canyon now serves as the official home of the Havasupai Indians. It is known for its amazing waterfalls and beautiful blue waters.

The waterfalls in and around the area are adorned with amazing columns, skirts, and geologically-mesmerizing shelves. Havasupai Falls is 100-feet high. It empties into bluish-green waters. Considered to be one of the most popular waterfalls throughout the world, it is also one of the most photographed.

Mooney Falls

While named after a drunken cowboy who fell to his immediate death, there is nothing dark or sinister about this amazing waterfall. It is 200 feet tall and pours down into a beautiful pool of water. Just outside that pool of water are several mini waterfalls that cascade over the nearby rocks and geological platforms.

The turquoise waters are highly inviting and the surrounding tropical looking scenes will whisk you away to a different time and place.
